Evidence-based coaching programme for the fashion industry

Paradym, the world’s leading emotional wellbeing programme in partnership with sustainability and communications consultancy and editorial platform, Other day, launch an innovative, community-driven group coaching programme for the fashion industry.

Our 8-week evidence-based coaching programme, explores notions of success with a particular focus on the current pressures and emotions at the intersection between fashion, innovation, sustainability and climate change.

Keeping ourselves healthy physically and emotionally is not only essential for our survival but plays a vital part in creating the opportunity for us to reach our potential and flourish. Sadly, our emotional wellbeing can take a back seat often at the exact same time when we need to look after ourselves the most.

Working in the fashion industry and wider creative industries is renowned for being highly competitive, intensely pressured and often provides irregular work to a high proportion of people working in a freelance capacity. According to the Mental Health Foundation, employees in creative careers like fashion are 25 per cent more likely to experience and develop mental health disorders.

Recently we may have felt increased pressure due to; the pandemic, feeling anxious about climate change or being concerned about our future role in a ‘broken’ industry.  An increase in flexible working patterns has enabled many people to create a better work-life balance, but for many it has resulted in increased pressures and a lack of connection with their colleagues or peers.

However, one thing that has become very clear is the power of community. Wonderful things do happen when we are able to support each other. Incredible things are possible when we are given the space, knowledge and tools to turn thought into positive action

By supporting people working in the fashion industry to deepen their understanding of core emotional drivers behind decision-making we aim to help female founders, and leaders in particular to navigate their unique role in transforming the industry.

Our Success pathway explores what it means to build a thriving career, encouraging us all to redefine what successful work actually looks like. Over the 8-week coaching programme, participants will begin to get insight into their workplace emotional patterns, moods, outlook on their career, reflect on what’s stopping them from reaching your potential and explore the core emotional drivers behind decision-making.

This is your chance to join a community of thoughtful citizens who are committed to helping themselves and others to flourish. We are ready to support you to be your own success story, are you ready to join us?!

Participant places are limited for the current group to 35 people. When we reach a sign-up of 30 people we are able to offer 5 places free of charge to those who may find cost a barrier at this time.

I’m very excited to get back to my fashion roots and partner with Other day to offer the industry a programme that is proven to improve wellbeing through uniting participants in a sense of community, but also in supporting each other to reach their potential. In my experience, the industry is very fast-paced, and there’s very little time to really look after yourself, let alone think about what you really want. Paradym will meet Other day community members where they are, and provide inclusive, accessible support with proven impact.

About Paradym

Paradym is a guided emotional wellbeing programme empowering its members to uncover their emotional identity, break patterns and more – backed by the science of emotions. Paradym’s group coaching sessions increase motivation, confidence and resilience.

Founded in 2018 by Courtney Carlsson, Paradym’s lifetime of mental health support aims to boost its members’ motivation, confidence and resilience – and to tackle the challenges of anxiety, stress and overwhelm. It lets members track fluctuations in mood and wellbeing, iron out their complex emotions and help them understand why they feel the way they do.

Previously Courtney has worked at a hedge fund, Celine (LVMH), The Row, and lived in New York, Singapore and Paris. But it wasn't until she started her MBA programme in 2014 that she was able to challenge her way of thinking and really consider how she wanted her life to look.

Following the release of our Defining Success report and accompanying podcasts in the spring, I knew that we had to continue to support female founders in particular to understand their emotional drivers, boundaries, and ways in which they can find a path in the industry that is right for them. Right now we are in a time of immense pressure, but also one of huge possibility. I firmly believe that given the right tools and support we can shape the fashion industry into one that we are proud of and one that finds creative and innovative solutions to tackle social inequality and climate change. Our partnership with Paradym, led by experts, supported by science and community, provides us all with the opportunity to flourish, and create change.
